Database Development
We approach database development in two stages:
Stage 1 - Installation of Basic DB Search/Display/Management Software
The first step in any database project is to install our DB Search/Display/Management software. This installation process includes the following:
- Development of the main database table. This includes creating the database fields
(within the master table) that are needed. This main table is then populated with
sample test
records.
- A standard database search page.
- A database drill-down results page
- A final results page
- Testing of the system to ensure pages are working correctly
If the database agreement includes an
online database management tool, the following items will be created:
- A database editor login page
- A database record display page which will display all records in the
database. The page will allow a user to select the record that they desire
to edit.
- An individual record edit page which allows a user to make a
change to the fields in the database and save the change.
Stage 2 - Database Customization and Feature Enhancements
After the stage one is complete and paid for, we can begin to work with
the client to layer features and enhancements into the project. Our DB Search software is
able to be modified with custom programming. Advanced features are defined as
features not covered in
the basic stage one implementation described above. Advanced features are
layered into the stage one database one at a time. Stage two development
is billed by the hour at our current hourly rate.
